I-80 construction work in southwest Iowa set for this season
ATLANTIC, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's District 4 office in Atlantic reports the following projects have been let for the 2008 construction season. Timing for some of the project have not yet been established, but more details will be made available when schedules are determined.

Pottawattamie County
(1) I-80 Bridge over the Missouri River . A $56.1 million project was awarded to Jensen Construction of Des Moines. The project is underway and is having minimal impact on traffic.
(2) 24 th Street bridge reconstruction over I-29/I-80 in Council Bluffs . This $12.1 million project was awarded to Cramer and Associates Inc. of Des Moines . The project is underway and will require nighttime closures of I-29/I-80. Visit http://www.cbinterstate.com/ for more information.
(3 and 4) Bridge deck overlay projects east of the Underwood and Neola interchanges. Cramer and Associates is the contractor on this $947,000 that will reduce traffic to one lane east- and westbound.
(5 and 6) Hot mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing project westbound lanes from Avoca interchange to Marne interchange in the westbound lanes. The $4.6 million project was awarded to Henningsen Construction of Atlantic. Traffic will be reduced to one lane.
Cass County
(7) Bridge replacements and roadway paving from the U.S. 71 interchange to the Nishnabotna River in the westbound lanes. A $4.4 million contract was awarded to Gobersen-Smith of Ida Grove. The westbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be placed head-to-head in the eastbound lanes.
Adair County
(8) Westbound bridge replacement west of Adair. This $1.7 million project was awarded to A.M. Cohron of Atlantic . Eastbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be placed head-to-head in the westbound lanes and the Adair County Road G-30 interchange (exit 75) will be closed during construction.
Dallas County
(9) HMA resurfacing project from the Redfield interchange to Dallas County Road P-58. A $2.8 million project was awarded to Norris Asphalt Paving Co. of Ottumwa. Traffic will be reduced to one lane for east- and westbound.
