Bridge work on Iowa 183 to begin April 28

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's Sioux City construction office has approved two bridge replacements on Iowa 183, .5 south and .6 miles north of the Harrison/Monona County Line. The project is scheduled to begin Monday, April 28.

The work will involve building a gravel on-site detour at each location and removing the bridges and replacing them with culverts. Two-way traffic will be maintained on the project. Completion is scheduled for the middle of November.

Dixon Construction of Correctionville is the contractor on the $735,000 project.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution and to obey posted signs in the construction area.
