U.S. 52 closed in Clayton County

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's District 6 Office is reporting the closure of U.S. 52 in Clayton County due to flood water over the roadway.

The roadway is closed at Millville. Southbound traffic is being detoured onto Iowa 13 through Elkader and Strawberry Point and back on Iowa 3 through Luxemburg. Northbound traffic is being stopped in Luxemburg and placed on the detour route.

The National Weather Service is expecting the Turkey River to crest after midnight tonight, but not return to below flood stage until Monday morning. The closure and detour will remain in place as long as there is a flood danger in the area.
