Bridges washing projects restrict lanes in northwest Iowa
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Three bridge washing projects in northwest Iowa have been approved by the Iowa Department of Transportation's Sioux City construction office.
- Beginning today, the U.S. 75 bridges over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroads and the U.S. 75 bridge over old 75 north of Sioux City are scheduled for maintenance. Over the five-day project, one lane in each direction of U.S. 75 will be reduced to a width of 16 feet.
- A bridge washing project on westbound U.S. 20 in Moville is scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 30. One westbound lane of U.S. 20 will be reduced to a width of 16 feet, Wednesday, April 30th.
- A side road bridge off Iowa 12 approximately six miles north of Akron is scheduled to be washed Friday, May 2. Traffic on Iowa 12 should not be affected.
Weather permitting, all projects are expected to be completed May 2. Interstate Maintenance Inc. of Mattoon , IL is the contractor for all three projects.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution and to obey posted signs in the construction area.
