Update on Amtrak service affected by BNSF bridge hit

AMES, Iowa – According to Amtrak officials, the passenger train en route from Omaha is continuing east to Mount Pleasant, where the Train 6 passengers will transfer to chartered buses for their stops between there and Chicago.  At this time, plans are to operate tonight's California Zephyr (Train 5) on its normal route into Burlington.

The Iowa Department of Transportation will be keeping travelers informed throughout the day with any updates about the U.S. 34 and BNSF bridges.
