Lane restrictions on I-380 ramp in Black Hawk County NEW HAMPTON , Iowa – The Iowa Department of Transportation's New Hampton construction office has approved construction work for removal and replacement of concrete barrier rail along the I-380 entrance ramp in Black Hawk County. The work will begin on the I-380 southbound entrance ramp over U.S. 20 and U.S. 218 during the evenings of May 12 and 13, when this ramp will be reduced to one lane to allow placement of temporary barrier rail and pavement markings. When work is not in process, two lanes on this ramp will be maintained, but shifted to the outside to make room for the contractor's work area. The project is expected to take two weeks to complete. The Iowa DOT asks motorists to drive with caution and obey posted signs in the construction area. As in all construction zones, drivers should stay alert, watch their speed, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear their seat belts.
